Airplanes, which are the safest means of transportation of today, witnessed new prototypes in many areas, especially in World War II. While many of these prototypes look like the planes we see today, some of them look extremely strange.
Some of the planes we will show you today are still in use today. Let’s see which planes you will find strange;
Handley Page Victor
Developed by the British company Handley Page, the aircraft was a retired strategic bomber. Victor was also equipped with cameras and sensors to serve his intelligence-gathering role very well.
Northrop XB-35
It was a heavy bomber developed during the Second World War to meet the needs of the United States Army Air Forces. Problems with the propellers at the rear of the aircraft caused the aircraft project to be cancelled.
Avro Canada VZ-9 Avrocar
One thing most of us agree with is that if aliens landed on earth, they must have done it in round vehicles. Developed by the United States in the early years of the Cold War, the aircraft almost resembles a UFO. Removed from a single propeller in the middle, this aircraft was canceled due to the US military’s insufficient level for the project.
Caproni Ca.60
A nine-wing and eight-engine flying boat-like aircraft, also known as the Nobiplano, was developed to carry 100 passengers. The flying boat, which was tested on Lake Maggiore in Italy, crashed again after rising just 18 meters. Fortunately, the pilot survived the crash.
EL/M-2075 Falcon
Developed by Israel Aviation Industry and Elta Electronic Industries, the aircraft has a nose resembling clown noses at the front. Although this nose makes the plane look strange, it does provide a very powerful radar.
