You can charge your iPhone faster
Having airplane mode enabled means that many features are disabled on the phone. The less the battery has to do, the faster it charges. So to charge your iPhone faster, open Control Center and tap on the airplane icon. Remember to turn off airplane mode when charging is complete.
Finding the strongest cellular signal
The feature I will share allows you to express the signal strength of your iPhone numerically. You don’t have to shake your phone, move from room to room, or download apps to get a clear signal strength indicator.
To find the strongest cellular signal, follow these steps:
- Open the phone app and dial 3001#12345# and click on the call option.
- In iOS 11 and later, the main menu will appear.
- Tap LTE and Cell Measurement Presentation.
- Look for lines rsrp0 (current cell tower) and rsrp1 (nearest backup tower).
- Tap the signal strength indicator in the upper left corner.
A low number means a good signal. 90 indicates excellent signal strength, 110 indicates good signal strength, 125 indicates no signal at all.
Flash when notification comes
The method of flashing when notifications are received is one of the lesser-known features of iPhones. To make the camera light on the back of the phone blink when you receive a notification, follow these steps:
- Follow the Settings/ General step. (You can skip this step on iOS 13 and later.)
- Tap Accessibility.
- If you’re using version earlier than iOS 13, tap Audio / Visual, then LED Flash.
- Open the slider, that is, set it to the green position.
- Turn on Flash on the mute slider, that is, set it to the green position.
iPhone allows you to take photos quickly without looking at or touching the screen. To take a photo with the volume button, open the camera app and click the volume up button.
Taking pictures with Siri
Siri can make taking photos fast. To set the camera app to your desired setting using Siri, press and hold the home or side button, depending on the iPhone model, and ask Siri to take a photo or video. Tap the camera or volume button after capturing the image. Here’s how you can command Siri to take a photo:
- “Hey Siri, take a picture”
- “Hey Siri, take a picture”
- “Hey Siri, take a square photo”
- “Hey Siri, take a panoramic photo”
- “Hey Siri, take a video”
- “Hey Siri, take slow motion video”
- “Hey Siri, take a selfie.”
Command Siri through text
In some cases, it may not be possible to get a loud answer or talk to Siri. Of course, there is also a trick you can use in such a situation. To give Siri commands by typing, follow these steps:
- Tap Settings.
- If you’re using version earlier than iOS 13, tap General.
- Tap Accessibility and Siri.
- When you activate Siri, type your command with the keyboard that appears on the screen.
Using incognito dark mode
Dark mode is especially advantageous for people with color blindness. If dark mode is enabled, the bright iPhone interface switches to dark colors. To use Dark Mode;
- Click on settings/ display/ brightness/ dark or open Control Center and tap the Dark Mode button.
Adding a virtual Home button, which I can call the most valuable among the lesser-known features on iPhones, provides quick access to features that require multi-touch. To add a home button, follow these steps:
- Tap Settings.
- If you’re using version earlier than iOS 13, tap General.
- Tap Accessibility.
- If you’re using iOS 13 and later, tap Don’t Touch.
- Tap AssistiveTouch and move the slider to the on position.
Easy access to top icons
The readability feature makes it easy to reach the icons in the far corner. To turn this feature on, follow these steps:
- If you have an iPhone with a home button, lightly double-tap the home button. If you’re using an iPhone X or later, swipe down from the indicator line so that the content of the screen moves down.
- When you touch the desired screen, the screen will return to its normal state. When you touch another place, you cancel the operation.
Undo typing
Did you know that you don’t have to use the delete button on the keyboard to delete what you’ve written? To undo writing, follow these steps:
- Tap Settings.
- Then tap Accessibility.
- If you’re using iOS 13 and later, tap Don’t Touch.
- Tap Tap (iOS 13 and later only).
- Tap Shake to Undo in the Interaction section and move the slider to the on position.
Adjusting the equalizer with one tap
Old songs are quiet and new songs are loud, indicating that you need to change the volume. To activate Voice Control built into iOS with one tap, follow these steps:
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Music.
- Scroll to Play Recording.
- Move the Volume Control slider to the on position.
Measuring distance using augmented reality
The Measure app, developed with augmented reality technology, helps to measure distances. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Tap the app and position the phone with the camera facing the flat surface.
- Tap and move the phone.
- Tap the + sign again to show the distance.
